The most corrosion resistant reel in existence Stainless steel and graphite construction makes Newell reels 25% to 40% lighter than comparably sized reels. Stainless steel, heat-treated gears; hard polished Newell-quality stainless brake discs; stainless steel-reinforced sideplates and a strong, super-light graphite spool.

Models 631-3, 636-3, 641-3, and 646-3 are Bait reels which have a GearRatio of 3.0:1 with a retrieve of 27" per crank for heavy fish.
